Build Your Marketplace Growth Plan

Use this worksheet to prepare for an account review. It is an illustrative planning tool, not a client case study or a revenue forecast.

Start with the numbers you control

Include fulfillment, expected returns, and other variable costs in the appropriate fields without counting them twice. This simplified calculation excludes fixed overhead and taxes. An assumed conversion rate can differ from actual results.

Your first review

  1. Collect recent sales, ad spend, product costs, fees, and inventory reports.
  2. List the products and channels that matter most to the business.
  3. Record current problems, constraints, and the decision each metric should support.
  4. Choose a small number of actions, with an owner and a review date.

An illustrative 90-day sequence

Establish the baseline

Agree on definitions, inspect account issues, and identify missing data.

Make prioritized changes

Address the most important listing, advertising, or operational issue first.

Review and adjust

Compare results with the baseline, account for other changes, and decide what to keep or test next.

Build a combined Amazon and TikTok cost view

For the same reporting period, record net sales separately for each channel, after discounts and refunds. Subtract product costs, marketplace and payment fees, fulfillment and shipping, advertising, creator commissions, sample products and shipping, production costs, and agency fees. Allocate shared costs once, then show fixed overhead and taxes separately. Reconcile the result with finance before calling it net profit.

Revenue is not cash received. Record payout timing, inventory purchases, sample commitments, and ad billing dates to understand how much cash the plan requires. This is a preparation checklist, not a forecast or a quoted fee.

What happens on the first call?

Discuss your goals, channel mix, constraints, and fit. A tailored P&L review needs account reports, product costs, fees, and inventory information that you agree to share through an appropriate channel. Confirm the scope and timing of that review on the call.

Before a creator campaign

Agree on permitted product claims, supporting evidence, briefing and review responsibilities, usage rights, sample budgets, discount authority, and who handles content concerns. Confirm which content can be reviewed before publication and which affiliate activity is outside direct approval. These are points to agree in the engagement, not a promise that every creator post can be controlled.
