How to Get Amazon’s Small Business Badge
The Small Business badge identifies eligible small-business products. It is not something a seller can guarantee by adding a keyword to a listing.
Check the applicable program
Amazon’s US Small Business badge guide describes its current size, location, and brand or Handmade requirements. Confirm all the conditions in that guide for your business. A generic definition of “small business” or a rule from another marketplace is not enough.
Prepare your request
- Confirm the business headquarters and legal entity information.
- Gather current records relevant to Amazon’s size criteria.
- Check the relationship between the seller account, brand, and products.
- List the ASINs you believe qualify, with any existing support case references.
- Follow the support path in the official guide if an eligible product lacks the badge.
Check the storefront after a change
Review several relevant product pages and save a dated record of what appears. If the result differs from the support response, reply with the affected ASINs and screenshots. This guide does not promise a particular display or approval deadline.
Keep the claim proportionate
The badge is not a product-quality certification, an endorsement of every business claim, or a guarantee of conversion growth. Use accurate brand storytelling and reliable fulfillment whether or not the badge appears.
For a growing brand, assign someone to revisit eligibility when ownership, location, or company size changes. Track any commercial impact using comparable periods and avoid attributing a sales increase to the badge when price, ads, or availability also changed.
